Ostara Celebration

Ostara Celebration

Hello! I am doing a special blog post today that is not book related but I still like to share other interests of mine while I’m here. As some of you may know, I dabble in some pagan practices and other “witchy” things. One of those things that I observe are the major and lesser witch’s sabbaths.  The last time I made a post like this was around Yule. Since Ostara is one of my favorite sabbaths, I thought it’d be good time to share some of the things I will be doing for the vernal equinox!

Something special about this year’s vernal equinox is that it coincides with a full moon! I love moon magic so I will be talking about how I plan to incorporate that into my Ostara celebration.

How I’m Celebrating Yule #Project14Lists

For today’s #Project14Lists, I decided to incorporate a post that I have been contemplating on doing for awhile. Since the first day of Winter Solstice is coming up on December 21st (there’s also a full moon the same night! Eep!), I have been brainstorming ways I want to celebrate the witch’s sabbath, Yule.

Yule is a time of reflection and the Winter Solstice marks the 1st day of the sabbath. It is the darkest and longest night of the year. The sun begins its journey back towards earth. This means that the days will begin to get longer as we draw closer to spring. We say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. There are 12 days in the sabbath (where do you think the song 12 Days of Christmas came from?) so that leaves some flexibility with how you want to celebrate.

The cool thing is that most people already incorporate Yule into their holiday tidings. The Christmas tree, hanging garland, putting up lights, a feast, using red and gold colors, all have roots in paganism. Here are a few things that I plan to do through the week and a half of Yule.

Checking In With 2019 Goals

Checking In With 2019 Goals

Hello hello! Welcome to another “checking in” post. I decided to do this post instead of a “Tag Tuesday” or “Top Ten Tuesday” because the point of this theme is to guide me back into blogging mode. I have been a hot mess with my blog the last week or so. The holiday season has come hard and I have been focusing on reading, preparing for Christmas and getting ready for Yule rituals.. Sometimes my life feels like a wreck because I want to do so many things but lack at prioritizing. I also seem to put a preference on what I want to do vs. what I need to do. I am learning that I am very much a mood blogger and perhaps a mood anything-er.

In this post I will be sharing my 2019 Goals so that I can be somewhat held accountable. Perhaps the list will inspire you to make some goals yourself. I don’t want to call this a “new year resolution” because I don’t usually stick to those.
