Oh hello there! I had some big goals for April since I did so well with March blogging, but as it often does, life got in the way. I need to figure out how to make sure blogging becomes a staple in my life no matter what I get caught up in. Anyway, I am still determined to call April a success by finishing out The Bookending Spring Event. The rules speak to my heart because they are so simple–at least 3 posts that aren’t reviews. There is even a list of (optional) prompts! This is my second post for the Bookending Spring event. My last post detailed what makes me pick up a book .
Today, I am doing a book tag called Behind the Blogger
(that no one tagged me in) created by Ellyn at allonsythornraxx. I am hoping that this post inspires me to blog more and reminds me why I decided to pursue this in the first place.
I was tagged by Kaylee and didn’t realize it until I went to tag people and saw in my notifications that she tagged me! I randomly picked this tag today so I feel like it’s fate that it worked out so well! Also, I really need to fix the WordPress app on my phone so that I can get notifications again!
Lets get into it!
1 WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING & WHY HAVE YOU KEPT BLOGGING?
I started this blog because I wanted to take a break from Booktube but still wanted to have a platform to dump my thoughts about what I was reading. I am very active on Book Twitter but it is not a platform conducive to extended thoughts and feelings on things. I created my design, header, and basic goals in one day. At the time, I was traveling as a passenger on a 3 hour commute so thats what I spent my time doing. I had an idea to create a blog, and I immediately went and did it. The same thing happened with Booktube but I ultimately couldn’t keep up with the demands that Booktube has (filming, editing, interaction, etc.).
I understand that deciding to blog does not eliminate the huge responsibility of interaction. But I also understand that I get what I give, so it is not a surprise or a letdown to see my blog grow very very slowly. I need to improve on my interaction, and maybe one day I will. But for me, typing on a computer is much more manageable than filming, editing, etc.
2 WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TYPE OF BLOG POST TO WRITE?
I really like writing my reviews. I know not many people read them, but 99% of the time, my reviews have spoilers in them and I know some people (ahem, me!) love spoilers because the spoiler is often what I want to discuss and rave about. I also love a good tag because I love lists!
3 WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 FAVOURITE BLOG POSTS?
4 WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE THINGS TO DO TO RELAX?
Relaxing comes in the form of a kid free evening to do with what I want. That usually includes eating take out and curling up on the couch to watch a good movie or read a book I am engrossed in. Basically, I love being lazy to relax.
5 WHAT ARE 3 OF YOUR FAVOURITE THINGS?
Reading, family outings, planning
6 WHAT ARE YOUR PROUDEST BLOGGING MOMENTS?
Reaching 100 followers! I am honestly shocked that I have that many. I realize that this number is small. But for how infrequent I post and interact, I am so pleased to have 100 people hit the “follow” button. I am not worthy!
7 WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF BLOGGING?
I am a practicing Pagan and I promise its not as weird as you might thing. I basically like to do focus meditations that are a little more in depth during certain cycles of the season and moon.
I also love planning. There is an entire planning community out on the internet and I discovered it about 4 years ago. I keep a detailed weekly/monthly planner that I built on my own. I have my entire life in there (budgeting, school, reading logs, etc.).
8 DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY IN 3 WORDS
Passionate, loyal, thoughtful
9 WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 PET PEEVES
This is a hard one because I can only think of the pet peeves that only certain people do. Person A could do the exact same thing as Person B but it would only bother me if person A did it and not person B based on who they are.
In my personal life, I really hate sudden change even if doesn’t affect things too much.
Strangers talking to me for no reason but to engage in “small talk”
10 WHAT’S SOMETHING YOUR FOLLOWERS DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
Something that I don’t talk about much is that I have multiple sclerosis. I am thinking about writing about it more and creating a sort of side project for those posts. I have a lot of internal thoughts and fears about my diagnosis but don’t often express it to anyone. Be on the look out for that!
